Authors compared the diagnoses of DCR-10 and DSM-III-R as a part of WHO field trial of DCR-10 1990 draft, chapter 10 and the results were as follows.
1) Agreement rates of each diagnostic categories between DCR-10 and DSM-III-R ranged from 78.13-100.0%. Kappa coefficient for each diagnostic categories were quite high(0.35-0.69) except for Personality Disorders(0.08).
2) Most cases which were diagnosed as Psychotic Disorder Not Elsewhere Classified by DSM-III-R were diagnosed as Acute or Transient Psychotic Disorder by DCR-10. But cases which were diagnosed as Psychotic Disorder Not Otherwise Specified by
DSM-III-R
correlated with wide range of diagnostic categories by DCR-10.
The results of our study indicates that the diagnostic classfication of DCR-10 can validly apply to the psychiatric diagnostic classification in Korea.
